THE ALTITUDE bib shorts is the culmination of our work in bib shorts.
We wanted a versatile model that could satisfy both the competitor looking for results and the rider looking to discover their skills on longer distance courses. But above all, we wanted to offer ultra-technical, high-performance bib shorts that were manufactured locally and sustainably.
To achieve this, we sought out a high-density chamois designed to support you on rides lasting more than 8 hours. Made in Italy by a leading company, the chamois is 14mm thick and has a density of 140kg/m3 as well as shock-absorbing technology. And to stay true to our commitment to a sustainable future, it's made from recycled polyester and bamboo.
Also, we paid particular attention to the choice of its main material. The lycra which makes up the ALTITUDE bib shorts is both soft and compressive, manufactured by a French company in the Rhône-Alpes region. It is designed for aerodynamics and therefore offers a fairly long cut. The material is mass-dyed for durability because we observed that the color of many bib shorts faded over the kilometers. In addition, we removed or flattened all the seams to prevent the risk of friction. Essential over long distances.
Rather than using an elastic band at the thighs that could compress or eventually stretch, we opted for a laser-cut design with a silicone insert to keep the shorts in place. So you won't see your shorts ride up during your rides.
But the real peculiarity of the ALTITUDE bib shorts is invisible, hidden under your jersey:
- The women's shorts offer removable straps, the Easy'loop system, at the back to allow you to satisfy a natural need without having to remove your top. We have seen a strong demand for bib shorts without straps but we are convinced that they are essential to keep the chamois in place and prevent friction. After some thought, we came up with the idea of developing this removable attachment system that takes the best of both worlds. Inspired by backpacks Messengers bicycle couriers, this metal clip allows you to detach your straps at the bottom of your back and keep your jersey on when removing your shorts. A game-changer on long outings.
- The men's bib shorts feature one-piece, elastic, seamless straps to prevent friction. With a full, ventilated back, they'll keep your shorts in place no matter the conditions and will be easy to forget about during your bike rides.
